A few weeks ago I was shopping and I saw a skirt on the rack that I thought was cute. I took it to the dressing room to try it on and realized how simple the pattern was. Instead of spending the money on the skirt I decided to go to Joann’s Fabric store and buy some material to try and make it for myself.
I found material that was a Linen Rayon blend and marked down 40%. I love when I can save some money! I only bought a yard, which I ended up regretting once I got home and decided to put pockets onto the skirt. Pockets make every skirt better! I had to use a scrap of material I had in my cupboard to finish the pockets and I like how it turned out in the end.
With this project I wanted to try my hand at making a tutorial video. This was my first time, and it took way longer then I thought and my video is way longer than I’d like. However, I’m really proud. I hope to get better and faster at making the videos, but there is a first for everything.

Remember, if you are going to work with Linen or Rayon you need to prewash the material. It will shrink. Prewashing is such a pain, especially when you are excited to get going on a project, but it is a MUST!! It is even more frustrating because then you have to iron the material after. I know! Way too many steps! But it is a must.
